IT'S A BOY!!!

A healthy little baby boy! We were all fooled! We are happy and excited either way and it's such a relief to finally know! So....as my mom and a certain fantastic children's book says "LET THE WILD RUMPUS BEGIN!"

Today is the day!

Our appt. is at 3 today and we couldn't be more anxious! I didn't really loose any sleep last night because I don't really sleep anyway! I couldn't drink my chai today because I'm already all nervous and jittery so any amount of caffeine is just going to add to that.

boy? girl? boy? girl? boy? girl? boy? girl? boy? girl? boy? girl? boy? girl?

I had to write that Nick got to feel kicks last night! My friend Heidi, our due dates are only days apart, said that her husband felt kicks so I had to try it out. Thankfully I had just eaten some delicious gummy worms so there was some sugar coursing through me and Nick got kicked within a minute or so. His reaction was shock and pulling his hand back...LOL...made me laugh for like 5 minutes until he said "I can't tell what's a kick because your laughing." I couldn't help it, his reaction was priceless.

4 days till our appointment......

One week to go!

Okay we're on a 7 day countdown till we find out the sex (hopefully)! Our appt. is next Monday at 3pm and I couldn't be more anxious about it! Not really sure why....we don't have a preference but maybe it makes it more real? We also haven't had an appt. in almost 6 weeks, so again, I'm anxious to hear the heartbeat and see the "little chunk". I think there is always the concern that everything is alright and just seeing it, even in black and white, helps with the connection to this little being.

I've been getting nervous too because I have been getting kickboxed by the little person for about 4 weeks now. If I can feel them this strongly now what's it going to be like in a couple months...yikes!!

Putting shoes on is already becoming a challenge. It pushes all the air out of my lungs and I sound like an old lady grunting and groaning...just trying to touch my toes! Ha ha! (It's okay, you can laugh at me) Thanks goodness at least I can wear sandals for the most part later in my pregnancy because I won't be able to put regular shoes on.

I have a baby room theme picked out and we're hard at work cleaning and organizing to get it to look that way. I'll have to post some before and after pics of what we accomplish when we get closer to being done.

"Having a child is surely the most beautifully irrational act that two people in love can commit."
-Bill Cosby

This is a quote that I know Nick and I agree with. Are we insane to do this? My answer at this time is "yes!" We're open to experiencing the insane though, that's why we're friends with most of you!

Yep, we're pregnant. 18.5 weeks now. Truly a shocking and awe inspiring experience thus far....also a puky one for those first few months. We are taking each day as it comes. That is all we can do. If we think too far in the future panic sets in...and as we all know the future comes soon enough.

We have our next appointment on March 15th. This is when the baby and I will get a checkup, get the quad test done and also FIND OUT THE SEX, hopefully! I know I have been going out of my mind waiting to find out the sex. Nick and I have always thought it was a girl but since the first Ultrasound I started to call the baby "him" so now I have no idea what to expect! I do know I am darn sick of waiting....
